Kim Stanley - Site Director

Kim Stanley has been working at Gingerbread Cottage Preschool since 2003. She graduated from Longwood University with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education and taught in Hanover County Public Schools for 4 years. She and her husband Tim have two children. Kim was a stay at home mom for 10 years before coming to GBC as a parent when her oldest daughter enrolled in GBC. When her youngest daughter entered preschool, Kim started as a substitute teacher for GBC. This led to her becoming a teacher, administrative assistant, and then assistant director; Kim has been in her current position as Site Director since 2006.

Lucy Perkins - Teacher

Lucy Perkins has been teaching at Gingerbread Cottage Preschool since 1999. Before joining the GBC staff, she was a teacher for the Head Start Program in Richmond Public Schools. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Longwood University. Lucy and her husband Tony have two children.

Robbie Dobson - Music Teacher

Robbie Dobson has been teaching music at Gingerbread Cottage since 2005. She earned her B.A. at Appalachian State and her Masters in Music Education at East Carolina University. Robbie taught band and orchestra in the North Carolina Public School System for 14 years before she and her husband had their two children.

Jennifer Doran - Administrative Staff

Jennifer Doran joined the Gingerbread Cottage staff as the Administrative Assistant in 2010. Before coming to GBC, she was a stay at home mom for 7 years. Jennifer and her husband Jamey have two children who both attended GBC Preschool before moving on to Hanover County Public Schools.

Marilyn Pendlebury - Teacher

Marilyn Pendlebury joined the Gingerbread Cottage Preschool staff in 2014. She has teaching experience at the elementary level and taught in North Carolina before having children and staying home for several years. Marilyn has also been a substitute teacher in private schools and worked as a math intervention teacher in the public school system. She has a B.A. from Randolph-Macon College and a Masters in Teaching from Virginia Commonwealth University. Marilyn and her husband, Chris, have three children.

Karen Fallin - Teacher

Karen Fallin has been teaching at Gingerbread Cottage since 2013. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Richmond and a Master’s degree in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia. She and her husband Bryant stay busy keeping up with their four children.
